The winter weather in Edmonton is, to put it mildly, just a bit chilly. However, there’s still plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the city this time of year! In February, there are a number of nationally touring live concerts and theatre performances making stops in our fine city. From award-winning Broadway musicals to live game show experiences, now is the perfect time to head to the theatre. Here are just a few of the exciting live performances coming up in Edmonton next month.

The Simon and Garfunkel Story

The Simon and Garfunkel Story will be making a stop at Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium on February 28th. This show depicts the journey of one of rock’s most iconic musical duos, the highlight of which are the faithful renditions of classic hit songs such as Mrs. Robinson, Homeward Bound and Bridge Over Troubled Water. Featuring an absorbing multimedia display, this show brings the vibrant musical atmosphere of the 1960s and 70s to life.

Dear Evan Hansen Edmonton

Dear Evan Hansen is a Tony Award-winning stage musical that revolves around the lives of a group of high school students as they deal with social conflict, personal tragedy and the internet. The story centres around a boy afflicted with a debilitating  case of social anxiety disorder, who feels that the only way he can make a connection to people is to invent a friendship with a deceased schoolmate. After its 2016 premiere on Broadway, the musical garnered acclaim from both audiences and critics alike for its heartfelt  music and lyrics and timely themes. Dear Evan Hansen will be touring cities across North America this fall, and will be on the stage at Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium from February 11th to the 16th.

The Price is Right Live!

One of the most popular game shows of all time, The Price is Right will be brought from the small screen to an interactive live show at Edmonton’s River Cree Casino from February 21st to the 23rd. Audience members will be given the chance to win big in classic games like Plinko, The Big Wheel and the one and only Showcase. If luck is on your side, this is just the show for you!
